Chapter Six

The Ancient Market

Chris, Luis and Sophie ended up in the ancient market, where they saw all kinds of magical creatures: Trolls, gnomes, fairies, elves, woodland elves, witches, warlocks, werewolves, you name it, they saw them at this ancient market.

Luis: “I wasn’t expecting to see so many magical beings in one place.”

Sophie: “Yeah, I know a lot of these people are not from our villages and I know werewolves and warlocks are not welcome in our village either, they are here to gather materials I suppose.”

Chris: “Come on guys stop staring, we are drawing attention because of our school uniforms.”

They walked around the market with all the creatures looking at them knowing they go to the school that belonged to Merlin, some creatures were not happy seeing them here.

Chris, Luis, and Sophie walked to a stall where the owner asked, “Can I help you?”

Chris: “Yes, we are looking for sunlight in a jar, and the ice of the never forgotten.”

The stall owner replied, “I have the sunlight in the jar but not the ice of the never forgotten.”

Luis: “Right, can we buy it.”

Stall owner: “Yes, 600 gold pieces.”

Sophie: “600 gold pieces, why so expensive?”

Stall owner: “My stall, my price, don’t like it, go somewhere else.” Sophie, Luis and Chris looked at each other and walked away from the stall. They went to other stalls looking and asking for the items they needed, all the stall owners were nasty towards them except for one.

Chris: "Man, why is everyone so nasty around here.

Woman behind the stall said, “It’s because you go to that school.”

Chris: “Pardon, what do you mean?”

Woman: “We don’t get many people from your school and when we do, they sometimes cause trouble, so they are not allowed here, we don’t know why you are here that’s why they are all mean towards you.”

Sophie: “They act like this over former students, who were idiots.”

Woman: “That is correct, they would come here, look at things, pick up things and play around with them, put them down and just walk away. We are not all happy to see you here but I think I can help you, what do you need?”

Luis: “We need sunlight in a jar and ice of the never forgotten, some stalls have them but are charging way too much.”

Woman: “Of course they will; they are not happy like I said. They will charge extreme prices just so you go away.”

Sophie: “So why are you being kind and nice to us?”

Woman: “I’m not being nice, I’m just want to do business. I’ll tell you what, I will give you the two items for 600 gold coins.”

Chris: “You will give us both items for 600 gold coins?”

Luis: “Chris, I think we should take that deal.”

Sophie: “I will have to agree with Luis here the others are charging 1800 and more, it’s a fair deal Chris.”

Chris: “Fine, we will take it.”

Woman: “Glad to do business with you, there you go, 600 gold coins please.”

Chris handed over the bag that had 700 gold coins in it, “Here, keep it,” said Chris.
